Happy Winter Solstice. Today is all about light - or rather lack of it. Today is the shortest day of the year, the day of least sunlight - tomorrow the sun starts on its return journey northwards. For many thousands of years, long before Christians highjacked the day, people have been celebrating with feasts, the exchanging of gifts and wishing their friends and family good cheer. So I send you, one and all, Seasons Greetings and my very best wishes for the coming New Year.
As mentioned in a previous post, I love playing with photos of the tree lights, so here are more "light" photos to cheer you up on the shortest day.
