23-29/365

Day 23. It was pretty cold

Day 24. Another cold day

Day 25. Packing has begun in earnest now. This is the front room.

Day 26. Packing away my desktop items, including my lovely paperweight, a gift from GM many years ago.

Day 27. We sold our king-sized guest bed back along (we'll be replacing it with bunks in the new house), so luckily we have plenty of space in the spare bedroom.

Day 28. This has always been called the box room, now we know why.

Day 29. My studio, I'll miss this lovely room, but I do have another lovely studio to look forward to in the new house.

21 & 22/365

Day 21. If you ever get an opportunity to have a Gong Bath, I urge you to take it. An indescribable experience.

Day 22. ST, DiL no. 5, mother-to-be of my 5th granddaughter, sitting in a giant armchair outside the Generous George pub in Hilperton.

18. A plate of pebbles, with fir cone.

19. My ever-lasting calendar, a gift from one of my oldest friends (longest, rather than most ancient) many years ago.

20. A couple of drops of this in a glass of water every day, an antidote to overwhelm, seems to be working.

14-16/365

Day 14. This little beauty seems to think it's spring already.

Day 15. Not getting on too well with our festive season jigsaw puzzle this year - wonder if we'll actually get it finished before we have to pack it away to move house?

Day 16. Picnic lunch on the car on a sunny day, prior to a hospital appointment.

13/365

It snowed . . .

. . . but, as you can see, not very much.

9-12/365

Day 9. At work my nick-name is "Little-pot-of", I'm hoping that, by using this as my lunch bag, they might start to call me "Full-of" instead.

Day 10. I really, really love my cosy new slippers . . .

Day 11.   . . . and my new fleece.

Day 12. I wandered lonely as a cloud that floats on high o'er vales and hills, when all at once I saw . . . a daffodil bud in the conservatory. (With apologies to William Wordsworth).

2016/17 Winter Photo Scavenger Hunt

I managed to find a few more of the subjects for Eileen's Scavenger Hunt, mostly out and about on my recent first adventure of the year.

No. 1 Layers. Well, three of them are, the other is a cock.

No. 5 Fur or feather. This serves me right for leaving my best black trousers and white shirt out instead of hanging them straight away in the wardrobe, both now covered in cat's fur.

No. 9. Diamond

11. Outside at night. You will very rarely find me outside after dark in the winter, so this is just a shot of the back of my home from the garden.

19. Bird table or feeder. Two, in fact, one in my mum's back garden and a rather more elaborate version next door.

No. 20. Cold.

This photo covers three subjects - No. 5. Fur or feather, No. 10. Winter weather and No. 20. Cold.

Alternative A. Pine cone.

5-8/365

Day 5. I just happened to be passing quite close to our (potential) new home, so just thought I'd stop to see if it was still OK and in one piece. Thankfully it was. Seeing all of those newly planted saplings, I guess this view will change over the years, I must make a point of recording it annually, maybe later in the year when the leaves are open.

Day 6. I had a few minutes to spare, so I stopped at Newlands Corner to admire the view.

Day 7. I passed through Waterloo Station a couple of times on my recent travels. This is the clock under which my mum and dad used to meet, after the war and before they were married in 1946 - at that time my dad lived in Essex and my mum lived in Hampshire. They first met when my dad was stationed in an army camp situated at the bottom of my grandparents garden and my mum worked in the local shop.

Day 8. A gift from one of my lovely DiLs (JO) and the grandsons. I love it.

Day 2. This sign has been up since early June and the journey has had lots of twists and turns, but hoping we'll be gone soon.

Day 3. A first time for everything, never had a jacket potato explode on me before!

Day 4. Preparing for my next adventure

Happy New Year 1/365

In order to get myself back into blogging on a regular basis, I've set myself the task of another photographic 365. There will be a photograph every day, but not necessarily a blog post every day. My word for 2017 is ADVENTURE, which means that, with a bit of luck, I'll be out and about having fun and therefore spending lots less time on social media.

I hope 2017 is a good one for all of us, I look forward to following your adventures as well as illustrating mine. Today's photos show a whole book's worth of promise.

We are hoping/expecting to relocate fairly early during the year, so there may well be a change of name/appearance at some stage - please don't be alarmed.
