The initial blurb to get me hooked went something like this:
"The membership package includes:
Craft and Creative Start-up Kit eBook (worth £25.00)
12 month directory access with listings for wholesalers, funding schemes, craft fairs, sales and marketing resource
VIP Shop Membership which includes an extra 10% off products and free shipping on orders over £25.00
Over £500.00 worth of offers from 18 different top brands such as office supplies, printing etc."
. . . which all sounded like quite a good package to me, so I agreed and my membership was set up.
The blurb is slightly understated, I have to say. This is a fantastic site for anyone either about to start or already running a craft business, and the membership fee of £25.00, while initially looking a bit on the high side, would be more than recovered quite quickly by taking advantage of the many offers available.
The eBook is a 182 page book, very easily downloadable directly to your computer (no Kindle or otherwise required), I can only assume that it might also be downloadable to an Ipad or other tablet, but please dont take my word on that as a) I'm no expert and b) I dont own an Ipad or other tablet - my best guess would be to ask someone before trying. It is a very comprehensive book, covering all aspects of starting up your own business from the beginings of an idea, right down to registering for VAT and everything in between, and on its own would be good reason to join.
The 12 month directory access with listings etc. . . is an enormous resource of valuable information, I've been reading it on and off over the past month, and still haven't got to the end of it. I'm not sure what happens at the end of the 12 months, but it would certainly be worth paying an annual subscription for as much information as this can provide all in one place.
As for the VIP Shop Membership, I've only just started dipping my toes into what's available, but it certainly looks like a great deal, and the over £500 worth of offers from 18 different top brands has got to be worth a look.
All-in-all, I would say that for anyone with a mind to start a crafting business, or for anyone already running one and wishing to expand, or just get some fresh ideas, this is a fabulous site, there is far more to it than first meets the eye, and I would thoroughly recommend it.

I have received free membership of this site from F+W Media for review purposes, but I have received no payment for this review, the opinions are my own and as such are opinions only, if they are factually wrong the fault is mine.
Sounds a good idea to me might be worth posting on the North West Crafters site on FB if that is ok with you.
ReplyDeleteYes please Beverley, that would be great, thanks xx
