Thank you very much for your comment on my blog today. I totally agree with you about children only remembering the fun things - it was only when I had Freya 4 years ago that my Mum told me just how hard things were for them when we were younger & that they had to really stretch their budget just to feed us - I had no idea! I do remember that once my friend was given a play post office, which was just a plastic thing that you sat on a table with compartments for all the paper bits that came with it. I really wanted one but (now I know) Mum & Dad couldn't afford it so Mum made me this fantastic one out of a massive cardboard box, painted it red, cut out the window so you could serve customers through it & she picked up loads of the free leaflets & forms at the real Post Office for me to use - it was so cool that I'll always remember it & I only know now the reason why it was done that way. xxx
