Firstly, the Vogue Knitting book - not that I need any more knitting books- but it's a magnificent beast, hardback with the original cover fully intact, about 10" square and with almost 300 pages of techniques. I've only just quickly scanned it, but I have seen some techniques I'm not familiar with, so I'm sure it will be £4.50 well spent, and even if not it looks quite impressive on the shelf!
Secondly, a paperback "Something More, Excavating Your Authentic Self" which I think sounds quite exciting, I've spent years trying to find my inner self but it seems to be pretty well hidden, so maybe this is the one to help me find it (if I have one, that is!).
And thirdly a tin, just over 5" tall covered in a Japanese style print, similar to the Willow Pattern, but in green with a lovely shimmery finish. I'm not sure what I'll do with it yet, I may just fill it with little goodies and give it to my almost born granddaughter, who is half Japanese.

I love the willow pattern - the tin is fab! The title of the book made me chuckle - when you find your authentic self, let us know! LOL!
This is a lovely idea for a post...showing charity shop finds. I love seeing what goodies other people find as its a favourite hobby of mine trawling charity shops for lovely bargains. I love the tin! X

love the japanese tin. I also find myself looking at (and occasionally buying) knitting books - goodness only knows why! My best charity shop buy recently was a stone hot water bottle - my schoolfriends and I used to squabble over one at boarding school way back in the early 70s! Mine is being used as a doorstop though.
Really nice 'finds' there Joy. As you know from reading my blog, I too like to have a look around the charity shops on a regular basis.
Maybe we ought to make this a regular feature, weekly? monthly? who's up for it?
