Gratitude Day 54

The Holm oak. The fig saplings have outgrown the space so have been repotted, leaving the Holm, a smaller fig and a couple of "normal" oaks to grow on a bit more together.

I bought this painting because I love it. The artist is Jill Clarke CBE and it's come from Australia. Not surprisingly it's called Pisces.

Gratitude days 48 & 49

Day 48.  Back to Wiltshire for a family visit, how I love the many different facets of this lovely county. Here is Oliver's Castle, reputed to be where Oliver Cromwell was cornered at the Battle of Roundway, and lost a lot of men.

Day 48. The Hampshire Air Ambulance landed on the green area not far from home

These flowers, although looking very attractive, have rather a sickly sweet scent.

Day 37. Chips for lunch - not many left by the time I remembered to take the photo

Day 38. A rosebud just outside the back door seems to have been taken over by blackfly-farming ants

Gratitude days 29,30,31,32/365

Day 29. The Anton River meanders quietly through Andover, it doesn't make a fuss, or show off, it's just there.

Day 30. A blackberry in the early stages

Day 31. A lovely pot of beef casserole, enough for about 7 meals, so plenty for the freezer.

Day 32. One of my all-time favourite spots, right out in the middle of Salisbury Plain
