If retailers are to be believed, the only way to make your Mum happy on this day is to spend, spend, spend.
Now I have four (adult) kids, the eldest is a stay-at-home dad, the second is an expectant dad, the third is working full time just to keep his head above water and the fourth is a student, so not one of them has money to spare, and yet I've had a very happy day, I have spoken to them all, and that, to me, is the most important thing. They took the time to remember me. Thank you guys, love you all.

It's always the simple things in life that makes us mums happy, have a wonderful day joy xx
There is always a way to make someone feel special - even without spending money. Happy Mother's Day to you - we celebrate it in June and I always buy gifts for everyone because I am so happy for the chance to be their mother/grammy.
I agree Joy. My two live overseas as you know and They toomhave both been in touch. We do not need presents to feel loved, just time.
Hope Rogermenjoyednhis special day too x
I so agree with you, it has become so commercialised that I find it really off putting. So I am just happy that I spent lunch with my two, cream cheese and smoked salmon bagels in a student kitchen!! It was lovely. Glad you had a great one as well. xx
