109/365 Fig jam part 2

Well I'm sad to say that the jam didn't set too well on its own, so I had to resort to the addition of some shop bought pectin, but by golly it tastes delicious, even if I say so myself.
(note to self: next time need to cut the figs into smaller pieces - chunks rather than quarters)
Three of these jars will be winging their way to Surrey with me on Sunday, the two smaller pots will stay here for my own consumption.

ooh, so you have a fig tree? are they easy to grow? I ate my first home grown peach the other day - it was yummy :)

It certainly looks good, although I personally hate figs. Can only tolerate it in fig biscuits. Enjoy.

Sticky, but delicious I'm sure. I could never make jam as I hate getting sticky fingers.

sharon, yes, very easy to grow, we inherited this tree when we moved in, just pruned it last year and gave it plenty of water this year.
chrissy, have you ever tried them fresh from the tree, they are gorgeous, nothing like the sticky dried things that come out for christmas.
rosytint, managed to make the whole batch without getting fingers sticky once!

Must admit Joy, never had them really fresh - so I suppose I cannot really compare.
